JV scholars from MHS have winning record

The Marion High School junior-varsity scholars’ bowl team posted a 6-2 record Nov. 15 at Moundridge.

The team defeated Fairfield, 60-50; Goessel, 60-50; Eureka, 50-10; Inman, 90-10; Sedgwick, 50-20; and Peabody-Burns, 30-20.

MHS lost to Chase County, 55-40; and Catholic Trinity of Hutchinson, 30-10.

The Warriors’ record was good for third place in their pool, but they did not advance to the championship round.

Sophomore Nick Meyer led scoring with 250 points. Freshman Kaylie Waner scored 60. Sophomores Alicia and Caitlyn Maloney scored 50 and 20, respectively.
