Centre High School senior Nellie Kassebaum medaled Thursday in the Burrton Invitational cross-country meet at Harvey County West Park. She finished 12th with a time of 19 minutes, 33 seconds.

She is the only high school runner who will be competing Oct. 25 at the regional meet at Riley County.

The junior high regular season ended last week. Coach Cindy Riedel noted that 8th-grader Jordan Smith placed at every meet, with four first-place finishes and three second-place finishes. She set a new personal record Thursday at Sterling, with a time of 12:52 in the two-mile.

Taylor Smith, a sixth-grader running in the seventh-grade division, also placed at every meet, ending with a personal best Thursday of 6:15 in the mile.

Ryan August, an eighth grader, placed in the last four of seven meets and posted a personal best time Thursday of 13:22 in the two-mile.
