Kenneth L. Pigorsch
Kenneth L. Pigorsch, 81, a lifelong resident of Herington, died Aug. 16 at Herington Municipal Hospital.
Funeral services were Aug. 19 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was buried in Sunset Hill Cemetery with military honors. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pigorsch served in the Air Force during the Korean War as an Airman First Class. He retired in 1994 as the lead railroad car man for the Southern Pacific Railroad. He also served on the Herington school board and hospital board.
He was born Sept. 15, 1932, at Herington to Henry A. and Emma M. (Deines) Pigorsch. A 1950 graduate of Herington High School, he married Wilma J. Richmond Beeton on Oct. 18, 1957, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Herington, where he was an active member. She preceded him in death in February 2007.
Grandson Brock Pigorsch; three brothers, Henry Jr., Wayne “Bud,” and Eugene; and one sister, Twilet Lane, preceded him in death.
Survivors include three sons: Bruce Beeton and Brad Pigorsch, both of Herington, and Brent Pigorsch of Lincolnville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and Hospice of Dickinson County.
