Kevin Jennison

A celebration of life for Kevin D. Jennison, 68, husband of former Marion resident Beverly (Bowers) Jennison, will be June 25 at the couple’s home in suburban Kansas City.

Kevin died peacefully June 5 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center after complications from a tick bite.

He was born Oct. 9, 1953, in Wichita to Leonard and Delores (Wright) Jennison and grew up in Latham.

Shortly before graduating from Kansas State University with a degree in nuclear engineering, he married Beverly Bowers of Marion.

After college, he began working at Black and Veatch as a consulting engineer. He continued to work there until his retirement.

Kevin lived a full and prosperous life with many interests and hobbies, including traveling, working with children and youths, photography, working outdoors, reading, and anything related to his alma mater, Kansas State.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beverly (Bowers) Jennison; his daughter, Cheryl Jennison Daproza, born in 1979; and his son-in-law, Keith Daproza.

Surviving family members include mother Delores Jennison, brothers Rolland Jennison (and spouse Judy) and Tindel Jennison, and sister Sharlin Sargent (and spouse Charlie).

Surviving in-laws include mother-in-law Shirley Bowers; brothers-in-law Greg Bowers (and spouse Mary Beth), Russell Bowers (and partner Karen), Richard Bowers, Brian Bowers (and spouse Shelinda), and Daniel Bowers (and spouse Kim); and sisters-in-law Mary Lou Just (and spouse Rick), Betsy Bunnel (and spouse Randy), and Janelle Paden (and spouse Doug).

He also will be missed by countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, whom he loved dearly.

He will live on in the hearts and memories of the many friends he made along the way.

Memorials will be collected for Hope Center and Blue Valley Library.
