Kiwanis plans pancake feed

Marion Kiwanis members signed up Tuesday for their times to work at the Chingawassa Days pancake feed on June 7.

Club president Mackey Taylor reported that Circles of Hope thanked the club for providing a meal for a meeting and asked if Kiwanis could do so again. The club agreed to try to find a date in June that would work.

The Marion High School athletics awards banquet is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. tonight.

Kiwanis will have a hospitality reception Monday after Memorial Day services in Marion, serving coffee and doughnuts at Marion Elementary School.

Al Ash reported that Kiwanis only needs to have interclub meetings with Council Grove and Lindsborg clubs to complete a full cycle of all the clubs in Division V for the year. An annual golf tournament and picnic will count for the meeting with Council Grove.

Club members set up a tent and tables for a graduation reception last week and took it down Tuesday. Upcoming set-ups are in June for a wedding and July 4. Anyone interested in renting one of the tents or tables and chairs can call (620) 382-7111.

State Rep. John Barker will speak at an upcoming meeting.
