Kjellin resigns as city administrator
Doug Kjellin resigned as Marion city administrator late Thursday, telling each council member in person.
“With this written notice, I resign my position of City Administrator to pursue private business opportunities,” he wrote in a letter dated Sept. 11.
The letter says his last day of work will be Sept. 25. Acceptance of his resignation is on the agenda for the council meeting at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Kjellin was appointed city administrator in December 2010 after working as the city’s economic development director.
He could not be reached for comment Friday.
