Kraus sets school record
in 1600

Dylan Kraus broke Marion’s school record in the 1600 Friday at Remington, winning with a time of 5:22.90. Kraus also holds three school records in the 400, and 800. He placed second in those races Friday.

Caileigh Johnson won the 200 meter dash. Brylee Smith placed third. Johnson also won the pole vault.

Kate Wessel won long jump. Nevaeh Jones placed third. Jones won the triple jump. Wessel placed second.

On the boys’ side, Tripp Peterson won the 100-meter dash. Wyatt Soyez won the 200. The boys relay team won the 400-meter relay and took second in the 800-meter relay.

Jackson Howard won discus and placed fifth in shot put.

Marion will travel Thursday to Bennington for a league meet ahead of regionals.

Hillsboro

Hillsboro’s track and field team traveled to Hesston on Thursday and Quinlyn Funk won the 1600, with Riley Richert placing second.

Funk would also win the 3200 and Jaidyn Frantz would place fourth.

The girls relay team won the 800-meter relay and Emily Gilkey placed second in the high jump.

Hillsboro’s last track meet of the season will be this Thursday at home ahead of regionals.

Centre

Centre traveled Thursday to Herington Invitational. Jaycee Stika won the 100-meter dash, 100-meter high hurdles, and 300-meter low hurdles. Micah Carlson placed third in the 200-meter dash and fourth in the 100-meter and 400-meter dash. Kathrine Rziha placed fifth in the 800.

Centre will be at Herington again Thursday for the Cougars’ last meet of the season ahead of regionals.

Peabody-Burns

The Warriors were also in Herington Thursday. Journey Needham placed third in the 400-meter dash, fourth in the high jump, and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles.

Peabody-Burns will be back at Herington for the league meet Thursday.

Goessel

Goessel did not have a meet this week but will be traveling to Herington for the league meet Thursday.
