Leo Richardson

Leo Leonard Richardson, known as “Red” to everyone, passed away March 23, 2014. Born in Missouri to Leonard T. and Anita N. Saunders Richardson, he was raised in Antelope, Lincolnville, and Marion, Kan., by his mother and stepfather, Tom Jackson.

Red was a true lifelong livestock man, tended ranch stock as a boy, owned cattle trucks as a man, spotted, bought and sold beef and was a well respected auctioneer. It is said he never knew a stranger. He gave many a helping hand to family and friends.

He married Velma Beisel in 1940. She died in 2001. Two daughters survive, Judy Scott of Lakin, Kan., and Amy Pilger of Green Valley, Ariz.

A memorial service will be held May 10 in Pueblo, Colo. To send condolences, contact Judy Scott at PO Box 87, Lakin, KS 67860.
