Dumb and stupid

To the editor:

First and foremost, my deepest sympathies to your family for the loss of your mom. I always enjoyed talking with her. She kept everyone on their toes. 

Second, the travesty that’s gone on in Marion is so egregious that it boggles the mind. The ripple effect extends so far that I would not be surprised if Francis turned over in his grave. 

Third, there must be light at the end of the tunnel. Elections are coming. Let’s pray the light in the tunnel isn’t another train!

I learned an expression many years ago that says, “I may be dumb, but I’m not stupid.” It appears too many of the “leaders” of the community past and present can’t, in all honestly, say this.

I sincerely hope that sensible people who may not know all the ins and outs of government but are willing to learn will step up and make Marion what it can, should, and must be again.
