Food trucks
To the editor:
Anita Seacat has good reason to question why a $10 permit is needed to operate her food truck.
Permits and licenses, when levied, must benefit someone other than the entity levying the fees.
Does the $10 generate a call to the Kansas Department of Agriculture so it can schedule a sanitarian to inspect the food truck for safety? Perhaps local law enforcement gets a call to notify of possible parking violations.
Get real. The $10 is needed to credit the coffers of the City of Marion.
