Gassed over prices

To the editor:

“Marion fuel prices higher than most” (Dec. 10) reports that in Kansas, “the average price for unleaded gas is $2.61 a gallon, the 11th lowest in the nation.”

So, even the highest in Marion is still below the $2.94 a gallon cited as the average fuel price for the nation a week ago.

Your readers might like to know that, here in the Socialist Republic of Western Washington State, the price per gallon yesterday (Dec. 30) at Costco was $3.87.

Costco’s price is usually less than that charged at other gas stations. (It was $4.42 here Oct. 5.)

By the way, thanks for the coverage of the continuing fallout from the Keystone Gestapo’s raid on your newspaper.

All the would-be storm troopers should be punished severely so that no other goons get the idea they can intimidate the press without real consequence.
