To The Editor:
Many of us have or at some time in our life will need physical therapy. What a blessed community we have in that the small town of Marion has such an impressive therapy department at St. Luke Hospital.
The gals in this department are amazing. Sheryl Simmonds, Shawna Winter, Mary Maloney, and Becky do a very professional and caring job. They each go above the call of duty to do what is best for each patient.
I have experienced physical therapy in several larger facilities in El Dorado, Newton, and Wichita. I always had a frame of mind that Marion was too small a town to have experienced therapists. What a lesson I have learned!
On and off for the past year I have had to have physical therapy and started coming to St. Luke Hospital more than a year ago. This may be a small hospital, but it is full of experienced, caring, and talented professionals. The staff here can easily compete with any large physical therapy department.
No therapist at any of the larger facilities ever bent over backward for my well-being and care. Not until I started coming to St. Luke.
Shawna Winter has done a tremendous job getting me ready to return to work. It has not been an easy task for her or me, but she was persistent in making sure I received the best possible therapy and used her great talent to get me up and running.
I just wanted to say thank you to these wonderful gals, especially Shawna, and wanted to let everyone who is or will need physical therapy to be aware of the great department that Marion and its surrounding communities have been blessed to have. Next time a doctor orders physical therapy, do not forget to check out the expertise that is at St. Luke Hospital!
