Media bias
To the editor:
While reading your editorial regarding the overcooking or undercooking the news by media this morning, I heard a CBS TV report about Harvard suing the Trump administration.
It began with a leading statement: “A federal judge interferes with President Trump’s efforts to restrict students’ visas.”
To me, the word “interferes” conveys media bias against the judge’s legally rendered decision.
Interestingly, I just did a search on KWCH’s website to confirm that the story had been published there, but it did not appear in any search, which also adds more questions than answers.
I would have not objected to a lesser subjective, more neutral wording had focused on the decision rather than a judge “interfering.”
However, since Parmount owns CBS and is trying to gain favor in a merger petition before the administration, it appears CBS is standing with hat in hand and trying to gain favor with the President.
