Tax restraint
To the editor:
Hats off to the county commissioners. This is the second year in a row that Marion County commissioners have decided to adopt a budget involving revenue-neutral property tax.
This is in stark contrast to the policy of piling increased mill rates on top of increased property valuations, a policy seemingly embraced by many surrounding counties, cities, school districts, and every other public entity that can levy property tax.
Has anyone noticed?
