To the editor:

If Sheriff Jeff Soyez is to persist in his warrantless warranty fantasy, continuing his intimidation campaign against an innocent car dealership, he should at least make public the complete lifetime maintenance records for the vehicle in question.

On no other planet does a vehicle with a disconnected coolant hose fall under warranty when maintenance was the far more likely cause of the neglected connection and maintenance was performed by a third party, which is the case here.

The sheriff and his buddies at Marion Police Department seem to have a thing for throwing their weight around against local businesses with whom they disagree. If he has a case against Dodge, take it to the county attorney.

Unfortunately, professional law enforcement leadership seems to be out of the reach of Marion County.
