Free Class Day on March 31 was a great day of learning that would not be possible without the support and help of volunteers and the community. Volunteers presented over 30 different classes for free with class sizes ranging from 2 students to 20. All of the instructors were from Marion County, but we had participants from Hope, Wichita, Hesston, Cedar Point and beyond.

Almost 100 people came to over 245 different class sessions at the Bown-Corby School Building. We also had a couple dance classes at the dance studio at the intersection of Fourth and Main streets.

Big Trucks-Big Fun had over 120 parents and kids come climb on tractors, honk horns, see inside an ambulance and just enjoy the morning as a family. Butler appreciates everyone who came out and to the organizations and businesses that brought out their vehicles — namely Triple R Trucking, Prairie Land Partners, Hett Construction, and the fire and EMS departments.

BCC will continue to have these free events in the spring but also plans to offer a non-credit series in the fall. If you have topics you would like us to offer or if you have an area of expertise or skill that you would like to present in a non-credit class (and get paid to do it) please contact the Butler office.
