Dennis Stevenson of Hope and Troy Peterson have been employed by Lincolnville City Council to provide maintenance services.
Patrick Combs was sworn in Monday as councilman. He replaces Sherri Pankratz, who resigned in October.
According to treasurer Clay Simons, the town is in good shape financially. Two loans were paid off this year, and one payment remains on a street improvement loan. He instructed the council to try to keep expenditures within $4,000 a month for the next two months to allow the usual rollover of funds into the next year.
Joe Vinduska reported a 50-inch section of cast-iron sewer pipe running under the railroad track is corroded, restricting flow. The council approved repair and clean-out by Meyer Specialty Services at a cost not to exceed $2,800.
Vinduska reminded residents they are responsible for proper disposal of branches except in the case of a severe wind or ice storm.
Kristen Ebaben announced she is sending letters to the two local newspapers expressing regret that they did not adequately report on Lincolnville’s Octoberfest celebration. She said ads were placed in both papers.
Ebaben designated Dec. 5 as Santa Day.
After a five-minute executive session to discuss personnel, no action was taken.
The next meeting will be 7 p.m. Dec. 7.
