Linda Priddy

Linda Carol Priddy, 64, of Independence died Monday at her home. She was born Nov. 8, 1949, in Salina to Earl and Wanda (Christensen) Priddy.

She was raised in Lincolnville and graduated from Centre High School. She attended Emporia State University and Brown Mackey College.

She married Steve Collett in 1969. She was a legal secretary for Masoner & North and an administrative assistant to Lyon County District Court Judge John O. Sanderson. She was a past president of that district’s Legal Secretary Association. She was a member of Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church and was a youth leader and Sunday school teacher.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Priddy, and a brother, Dale Priddy.

She is survived by her mother, Wanda Priddy of Strong City; three children, Amy Connolly of Tinley Park, Ill., Ryan Collett of Independence, and Mary Collett of Overland Park; a sister, Ellen Lynch of Sea Drift, Texas; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church with Pastor Kim Shank officiating. A memorial fund has been established with the church.
