Loren Hiebert
Services for Loren Keith Hiebert, 82, Hillsboro, who passed away Nov. 28, 2024, will be 11 a.m. Dec. 21, 2024, at the Hillsboro American Legion Post.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 28, 2024, at Haven of Rest Cemetery.
Loren was born Oct. 5, 1942, in Hillsboro to Charlotte (Schroeder) and Hugo Hiebert.
Except for when he served in the U.S. Army in 1963 to 1965, he grew up and lived his entire life on the family farm outside of Hillsboro.
He was a lifelong farmer and rancher, although his passion was for hunting and fishing.
On Feb. 17, 1979, he and Vicki Kelly were married.
Later in life, he and Vicki established Cottonwood River Outfitters, which they ran for several years and through which they met and maintained lifelong friendships with people from around the country.
They enjoyed their life together, always having a big garden and canning. A favorite were their dill pickles. They also enjoyed many family gatherings.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Vicki; his parents; and brothers Abraham and Russell Hiebert.
He is survived by sister Shirley Reusser of Hillsboro along with sisters- and brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established with American Legion Post 366.
