Lowell Unruh

Lowell R. Unruh, 80, died Aug. 7, 2008, at his residence near Florence.

Born Oct. 25, 1927, at Goessel, he was the son of Rudolph and Lydia (Schroeder) Unruh.

On July 15, 1949, he married Betty Ratzlaff at Goessel. She died in 1994.

He was a farmer and member of Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Orville Unruh.

Survivors include three sons, Kim Unruh of Marion, Scott Unruh of Modesto, Calif., and Rex Unruh of Lancaster, Calif.; daughter, Vicky Waggy of Cedar Point; sister, Audrey Boese of Lehigh; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Mennonite Church with Pastor Linda Ewert officiating.

A private burial service will occur.

A memorial fund has been established with the humane society.
