Marguerite Goertz, 96, of Hillsboro died March 17, 2012, in Hillsboro. She was born Feb. 27, 1916, in Oketo to Clement and Lydia (Shafer) DeLair.

She ran Marguerite’s Mercantile Store.

She married Ben F. Pankratz in 1933 in Meade; he preceded her in death. She later married Norton Goertz in 1987 in Hillsboro; he also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Clemmie D. Pankratz in 1941.

She is survived by two daughters, Benita Holliday of Brownwood, Texas, and Rosemary Souza of San Lorenzo, Calif.; one sister, Gwydotta Herbel of Eugene, Ore.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family had private services.
