August was a slow month at Marion Assisted Living, with the weather being hot. The first week our activity director was on vacation, so everyone got a vacation with summer day lazing.
Residents started up a men’s coffee group and a women’s coffee group. Lawrence Winkly’s daughter and son-in-law from Texas visited and put on a puppet show one afternoon. Residents enjoyed an afternoon of cowboy poetry by Doris Ewert’s son from Colorado.
When the weather did cool off enough residents took a few bus rides out around the lake and downtown.
Assisted Living week is coming up Sunday through Sept. 15. Residents are planning a balloon lift off, cook out, and snack day.
