Ninety third grade students from Hillsboro and Marion took part in an Ag Awareness Day on May 9 at the Marion football stadium hosted by Marion/Florence FFA chapter.

Students participated in sessions centered around farming practices involving equipment, safety, and animals.

Presentations included courses on ATV safety by Sean Buchanan and Zac Lewman, sheep by Elizabeth Meyer and Kayla Kroupa, hay balers by Raleigh Kroupa and Nicholas Stuchlik, planting equipment by Clint Kroupa and Nicholas Meyer, horses by Alicia Maloney and Kaitlyn Goebel, entomology by Austin Cogdill and Jeremy Hett, poultry by Aidan Cairns and Malachi Sippel, combines by Dylan Carpenter and Bret Voth, swine by Cody Parmley and Dylan Pippin, goats by Zac Dvorak and Landon Pedersen, beef by Cade Harms, and trivia by Lauren McLinden and John Nordquist.

Equipment was provided by Cooperative Grain & Supply and PrairieLand Partners.
