Marion-Florence FFA dominate annual "Barnyard Olympics"

The Marion/Florence FFA in conjunction with the Florence Labor Day committee hosted the 5th annual county-wide FFA Barnyard Olympics competition on Monday.

Teams from Marion and Hillsboro competed in events ranging from a trailer backing contest to hay bale stacking. There was also a bale toss for height, a steer roping contest, and a wheel-barrow obstacle course.

Girls’ division

Individual results: Alicia Maloney, first; Lauren McLinden, second; Erin Loewen, third; Lauren Geis, fourth; Ericka Herzet, fifth.

Team results: Marion, first; Hillsboro, second and third.

Guys’ division

Individual results: Aaron Klassen, first; Nathan Unruh, second; Derrick Dvorak, third; Clint Kroupa, fourth; Evan Slater, fifth.

Team results: Marion, first; Hillsboro, second; Hillsboro 2, third; Marion 2, fourth.
