Marion/Florence FFA members attend national conference

Members of Marion-Florence FFA Chapter attended the 83rd National FFA Convention Oct. 20 through 23 in Indianapolis.

More than 50,000 students, parents, and advisers attended the national convention.

This year’s theme was “Infinite Potential.” Members attended an awards presentation, heard speeches from retiring national FFA officers and keynote speakers, viewed exhibits, and visited with potential employers and colleges at a career show.

They toured the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the National FFA Center in Indianapolis, the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Assembly Plant in Kansas City, and a sheep farm near Indianapolis — one of a few operations using artificial insemination and embryo transfer technology in sheep.

Members attending included Corey Shields, Kaitlyn Frese, Zac Lewman, Nick Meyer, Abbey Smith, and Amanda Stuchlik. Mark Meyer and Krystal Mosher were sponsors.
