Marion library named best

Marion City Library was named Kansas Library Association’s best small library in Kansas for 2023.

The award, for libraries that serve populations of less than 5,000, is selected based on a library’s programs, attendance, community involvement, and community partnership, librarian Janet Marler said.

The library will receive a monetary award during a reception at 4 p.m. Nov. 14 at the library.

A library can only get the award once, Marler said.

The library won a five star award from Library Journal, a national association, in 2020.
