Dec. 12: Officers met with the media regarding planned protests. A welfare check was provided. A vehicle fire was investigated. A domestic dispute was reported and resulted in an arrest.

Dec. 13: School zones were patrolled. A dog complaint was checked. A theft was reported. Officers responded to a domestic dispute.

Dec. 14: Officers provided security for protests at Marion High School. A stranded motorist received assistance. A non-injury accident was investigated. Property was recovered.

Dec. 15: School zones were patrolled. A dog was picked up for running at-large. Assistance was provided with a guest speaker at MHS. A domestic dispute investigation resulted in an arrest. Officers attended training. Assistance with a smoke alarm was provided to an elderly person.

Dec. 16: School zones were patrolled. A forgery was reported. A parking complaint was checked. A civil standby was provided. A reckless driving complaint was checked. Officers met with a concerned parent. A dog complaint was checked. Streetlights were checked.

Dec. 17: School zones were patrolled. A fire complaint was checked.

Dec. 18: Multiple vehicle burglaries were reported. An officer met with a concerned citizen.

Dec. 19: Multiple vehicle burglaries were reported. A dog complaint was checked.

Dec. 20: School zones were patrolled. A harassment complaint was filed. A forgery was reported. A non-injury accident was investigated. A parking complaint was checked.

Dec. 21: School zones were patrolled. An officer assisted with an out-of-control resident in a retirement facility. A concerned citizen met with an officer. A search warrant was served. Stolen property was recovered. An individual was arrested and accused of recent burglaries.

Dec. 22: School zones were patrolled. A possible domestic dispute was investigated. Directions were given to a motorist. Debris was removed from a road. Officers attended court hearings.

Dec. 23: Officers responded to a resident in a retirement facility that was in need of assistance. An individual was transported to Newton. Officers checked a report of an all-terrain vehicle on a street. Sheriff’s deputies received assistance with accidents on US 56. A civil standby was provided.

Dec. 24: A parking complaint was checked.

Dec. 25: Possible animal abuse was reported. A house fire was reported.

Officers issued seven warnings, served four notices to appear in court, and made three arrests.
