Marion police reported the following activities in addition to working on reports, follow-up investigations, vehicle maintenance, vehicle identification number inspections, and attending meetings.
Aug. 9: Response was given to an activated alarm. A telephone harassment complaint was filed. A domestic dispute was investigated. Officers met with a concerned citizen.
Aug. 10: An attempt was made to serve an arrest warrant. A burglary and theft were reported.
Aug. 11: An individual was transported. An officer met with the county attorney regarding cases. An injury accident was investigated.
Aug. 12: A court services officer received assistance with a home visit. An officer met with the county attorney regarding cases. A civil standby was conducted. Radar was run on Main Street. A possible runaway was reported. A possible prowler was checked. Response was given to a domestic dispute. The sheriff’s department received assistance with a stranded motorist on U.S. 77.
Aug. 13: A dog was picked up for running at-large. A suspicious person was checked.
Aug. 14: A domestic dispute was investigated. An arrest warrant was served. A civil standby was provided. Traffic stops were conducted. Officers responded to a fight.
Aug. 15: Traffic stops were conducted. A driving while under the influence complaint was investigated.
Aug. 16: A suspicious person was checked. Criminal damage to property was reported.
Aug. 17: An attempt was made to serve an arrest warrant. Officers attended court hearings. Traffic stops were conducted. An arrest warrant was served.
Aug. 18: School zones were patrolled. An arrest warrant was served. A walk-through was conducted at Marion High School. Criminal damage was reported. An officer met with the county attorney regarding cases. Assistance was provided to emergency medical services personnel with a call. A second arrest warrant was served. Streetlights were checked.
Aug. 19: School zones were patrolled. An officer met with a concerned citizen.
Thursday: School zones were patrolled. Response was given to an activated alarm. Streetlights were checked. Traffic stops were conducted.
Friday: School zones were patrolled. An injury accident was investigated. A community corrections officer received assistance with home visits. Officers responded to an activated alarm.
Saturday: Traffic stops were conducted. Legion Riders were escorted. Officers responded to an opossum complaint. A suspicious vehicle was checked.
Officers issued four warnings and one notice to appear, and made six arrests.
