Officers wrote reports, delivered cases to Marion County attorney, conducted follow-up investigations and vehicle maintenance, checked buildings, and made routine patrols.

Nov. 1: A dog was reported running at-large at Fifth and Santa Fe streets. A civil standby was provided. A laptop computer was reported missing. Response was given to a possible domestic violence call; everything was OK. School zones were patrolled. Six traffic stops were made and six verbal warnings were issued. A possible fight was reported in Central Park but none had occurred.

Nov. 2: A street sign was knocked down at Hudson and Elm streets. A dog was reported running at-large in the 100 block of Freeborn Street. A bike was registered. Two verbal warnings were issued for parking on the wrong side of the street on Eisenhower and Denver streets. School zones were patrolled. Four traffic stops were made with four verbal warnings issued.

Nov. 3: School zones were patrolled. A possible drunk driver was reported but officer was unable to locate. Five traffic stops were made and five verbal warning were issued.

Nov. 4: A school walk-through was provided. Five traffic stops were made with three verbal warnings and two written warnings issued.

Nov. 5: School zones were patrolled. A walk-through was provided at a school. Five traffic stops were made with five verbal warnings issued. Assistance was provided to the sheriff’s office with a hay bale on fire one mile east of town on U.S. 256. Juveniles were reported behind the police department and a smell of paint coming from the area; no paint or damage to the area was found.

Nov. 6: A complaint of loud music was checked. Reckless driving was reported. Assistance was provided with a police escort for the annual toy run. Three traffic stops were made with three verbal warnings issued.

Nov. 7: Seven traffic stops were made with seven verbal warnings issued. A welfare check was provided; everything was fine.

Nov. 8: Someone was reportedly driving a four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle on a city street. A complaint was made of a careless driver in Central Park. A dog was impounded. Three traffic stops were made with three verbal warnings issued. School zones were patrolled.

Nov. 9: School zones were patrolled. Two 911-hangups were checked. A phone harassment complaint was investigated. Someone was reported driving a four-wheel ATV on city property. Two traffic stops were made and two verbal warnings issued.

Nov. 10: An officer presented a program at Marion Elementary School. School zones were patrolled. A walk-through was provided at Marion High School and Marion Middle School. A dog was impounded. Four traffic stops were made and four verbal warnings were issued.

Thursday: School zones were patrolled. A walk-through was conducted at MMS and MHS. A dog was reported running at-large in the 700 block of East Main Street. Four traffic stops were made and four verbal warnings were issued.

Friday: Three traffic stops were made and three verbal warnings were issued. Officers responded to a verbal argument. A civil standby was provided.

Saturday: A reckless driving complaint was checked. Two traffic stops were made and two verbal warnings were issued.

Sunday: School zones were patrolled.

Officers responded to two calls of dogs running at-large resulting in two dogs being impounded, one criminal damage complaint, and one threat
