Senior Center correspondent

Raymond and Nadine Koegebehn brought their grandsons, Hayes and Kline, to the senior center July 6. After lunch each boy played the piano.

Shirley Bowers brought tomatoes one day.

Arlene Bowers’ birthday is July 4, so she brought treats the next day.

John Kline brought treats for his birthday July 10.

The ONE Committee, senior center managers in Marion County, met at the center July 10. They shared statistics and program ideas.

Lenore Dieter provided piano music with light classics July 11. The program ended with patrons singing “God Bless America.”

Senior center patrons are ready for new jigsaw puzzles if anyone has puzzles to lend or donate.

The senior center will send a group to Crown Uptown Theatre to see “Sweeney Todd” Sept. 20.

Herbalist Karyn Woodward will present a program July 25.

The senior center has instructions for crocheting and knitting purple caps that will be given to newborn babies this winter.

All meals served with milk. Call (620) 382-2942 by 9 a.m. to reserve a meal.

Thursday — Chicken enchiladas, lyonnaise rice, tossed salad with dressing, cantaloupe, whole-wheat rolls.

Friday — Lemon baked fish, potato wedges, coleslaw, pineapple, whole-wheat rolls.

Monday — Egg and sausage bake, potato wedges, marinated tomatoes, muffin, mixed fruit.

Tuesday — Barbecue beef, bun, macaroni salad, corn, grapes.

July 25 — Chef salad, breadstick, mandarin oranges, cookie.
