Marion Senior Center patrons and volunteers are preparing for the annual Senior Fair on Sept. 18 in Salina, and later for Old Settlers’ Day in Marion. A class reunion is scheduled to meet in the center during Old Settlers’ Day.

Shirley Bowers brought in a vase of digitalis to share. Another day she played “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” in celebration of recent rainfall. She plays table grace every day and often plays other songs before the meal.

Evelyn Jewett, who leads the craft corner, received a reading, “Addicted to Quilting,” from her daughter.

Hilltop Manor residents were guests on Aug. 29. The program was by Cynthia Blount, director of the Marion Historical Museum. She showed a video of people and parades of the past.

Details about a trip to see “Sweeney Todd” on Sept. 20 at the Crown Uptown Dinner Theater in Wichita are available now. Call the senior center for more information.

Jeff Lee, new pastor at Aulne United Methodist Church, will speak at the center Sept. 12.
