MARION SENIOR CENTER: A stately celebration
Senior Center correspondent
A chorus of “Home on the Range” concluded a senior center celebration of Kansas Day on Jan. 29. Residents made popcorn for the occasion, took a “People of Kansas” quiz, and talked about the state bird, animal, insect, tree, and reptile.
The coffee and lunch bunch made a reprisal appearance, with three additional participants.
A program on Feb. 4 featured occupational therapist Nicole Sampson from St. Luke Hospital presenting about assessment of driving capabilities, a service paid for by Medicare.
Senior Center Day is Feb. 18, and there will be a program following lunch that day. Mayor Todd Heitschmidt will speak.
