MARION SENIOR CENTER: Elvis' grandma vows to wear poodle skirt

Senior Center correspondent

Elvis impersonator Marc Baker once again graced Marion Senior Center with his version of “the King of Rock and Roll” for Elvis Presley’s Jan. 9 birthday.

This time he brought his grandmother, who vowed to patrons that she would wear her poodle skirt to next year’s performance.

Paul White brought ice cream to the senior center Jan. 14 to celebrate his birthday.

After lunch, Valley United Methodist Church pastor Sue Talbot entertained patrons by playing her keyboards. Rhonda Brenzikofer and Jackie Hett volunteered to blow bubbles during a Lawrence Welk song Talbot performed.

A Kansas Day program will include popcorn on Jan. 29.

Lately, each day that musician Keith Allison comes to lunch, he plays the piano for patrons before everyone eats. Many who attend have expressed liking his performances.
