MARION SENIOR CENTER: Harold Triggs voted vice president

Harold Triggs was elected vice president for Marion senior citizens after a write in vote.

Marion Senior Center building was rented out to Kansas Department of Transportation employees for a meeting and to a group celebrating its class reunion on Old Settlers’ Day.

Vickie Kaempfe is the center’s new dining room volunteer, but others are needed.

Dorothy Conyers reported on her experience Oct. 2 at the senior fair in Salina. She won a membership for two for a year to the Rolling Hills Zoo.

Bonnie Scheid of Hesston was the speaker Oct. 2. She worked in Puerto Rico, Rio De Janeiro, and Hong Kong and has written books, two of which were available at the center titled “Recycle Your Life,” and “Seniors Living Well from A to Z.”

Gayla Ratzlaff from Marion County Department on Aging will talk about the prescription drug plan Monday.

There will be no program on Senior Day, Oct. 16, because of set up for the annual meeting Oct. 17.
