MARION SENIOR CENTER: Insomnia breeds a fight song

Senior Center correspondent

Finding herself awake and unable to get back to sleep at 4 a.m. March 23, Sue Clough decided a writing exercise might clear her head.

She wrote words to the alphabet song about the Wichita State Shockers, who had just upended Kansas the day before in the NCAA tournament.

That afternoon she informed senior center attendees of her experience and performed her song for them.

The Aulne United Methodist Church birthday bunch livened things up March 19, and everyone sang to Jackie Hett.

Clough, Evelyn Jewett, Elsie Reiswig, Pat Busey, Nora Richter, Mary Hett, Fred Puttroff, Irmagene Goodman, Al and Gloria Ash prepared the newsletter for mailing.

Sara Carter from Angels Care Home Health gave a program March 25.

Wanda Williams will give a piano program April 8.

Those doing spring cleaning can bring extra or unwanted items to the senior center to sell in the center’s craft corner.
