MARION SENIOR CENTER: 'My funny valentine'

Senior Center correspondent

Marion Senior Center patrons celebrated Valentine’s Day by telling jokes and listening to romantic recordings sung by infamous crooners Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Andy Williams.

Patrons also sent valentines to Meals On Wheels customers that were crafted by Susan Hall’s second grade and Susan Cooper’s fifth grade class at Marion Elementary School. Teacher aide Lindsey Hett was the contact person for the project.

Jerry Kline celebrated his Feb. 17 birthday at the senior center by bringing cookies baked by his wife Norma.

Vice President Rhonda Brenzikofer conducted a business meeting Feb. 18 during Senior Center Day. Attendees sang “Happy Birthday” to Virginia Downing, and remembered Ivanlee Timm, who shares the same birthday.

Mayor Todd Heitschmidt and City Administer Roger Holter also shared their vision for the city during a presentation.

A mobility specialist from Hatfield Mobility in Salina will give a presentation March 4.
