MARION SENIOR CENTER: Seniors celebrate Halloween

Senior Center correspondent

The center observed Halloween with a quiz on Halloween candy and a joke about the broom groom and the broom bride. A witch’s cauldron was created by placing dry ice in a bowl. Joyce Jackson was an Old Mother Hubbard character; cook Barb Bitner was an Indian squaw; and Janet Bryant was a witch with a flowing cape and ghastly wig.

Leland Albrecht brought treats for his birthday Nov. 5.

Mayor Todd Heitschmidt will speak and answer questions Nov. 13 after lunch.

The center will observe Mickey Mouse’s birthday Nov. 18. Attendees are encouraged to wear a Mickey Mouse T-shirt and bring other related items.

Senior Center Day is Nov. 19. Jackie Volbrecht will talk about her worship experiences in Russia.
