Marion takes four silver medals at Beloit

Marion track and field girls earned three silver medals Friday during the Beloit Relays.

Baliel was the top individual performer for Marion, taking silver in pole vault and the 200-meter, while Emmy Hess placed second in long jump.

High jumper Noah Dalrymple took second for the boys, again matching his personal best of 6-feet-2-inches.

Every one of the boys’ points came from field events, with athletes placing in four events.

Girls top finishers: 4-by-100-meter, fourth place, 53.91 seconds; 4-by-400-meter, sixth place, 4:29.68; discus, Drew Helmer sixth place, 97-feet-3-inches; long jump, Hess second place, 15-feet-10¾-inches; triple jump, Hess sixth place, 31-feet-1-inch; pole vault, Baliel second place, 9-feet-7-inches; 200-meter, Baliel second place, 27.68 seconds; 800-meter, Heidi Grimmett sixth place, 2:33.19; 1600-meter, Grimmett fourth place, 5:31.98.

Boys top finishers: Shot put, Charlie Nordquist fifth place, 42-feet-10-inches; javelin, Colton Mercer sixth place, 138-feet-2-inches; high jump, Dalrymple second place, 6-feet-2-inches; pole vault, Campbell Winter sixth place, 10-feet-1-inch.
