Marion to
celebrate Saturday

A Christmas event Nov. 30 in Marion will offer a daylong slate of things for families to do.

It also will offer the tastes and sights of the season.

  • 9 a.m. — Elf on the Shelf Hunt in Marion businesses will begin at CB Baked Goods.
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Jingle and Mingle at Marion Community Center will feature at least a dozen vendors selling home décor, baked goods, beef sticks, food storage items, plants, Christmas gifts, hot cocoa bombs, and other holiday merchandise.
  • 9 a.m. until gone — Kids can get tree cookies at CB Baked Goods.
  • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Ornament making and hot cocoa will be offered at Crafty Cactus.
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Face painting will be available at Bill & Essie’s BBQ.
  • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Nativity display at Historic Elgin Hotel.
  • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. — small dish of ice cream at The Sit Down.
  • 9:45 to 10 a.m. — snow at the Historic Elgin Hotel.
  • 10 to 11:30 a.m. — photos and visit with Santa at Marion City Library.
  • Noon to 3 p.m. — train rides for kids leave from CB Baked Goods.
  • 12:30-12:45 p.m. — snow at Historic Elgin Hotel.
  • 1 to 3 p.m. — 10-animal petting farm at Central Park.
  • 2 p.m. — cookie swap at Historic Elgin Hotel ballroom. Free but must bring three dozen Christmas cookies or treats and be present.
  • 5:30 p.m. — lighted Christmas parade on Main St. Christmas carols in Central Park after the parade.

The day will also feature caroling elves on Main St.
