In a change from past years, Marion VFW Post 6958 is moving its chili and soup event from lunchtime to suppertime this year.

Chili, chicken noodle soup, vegetable beef soup, homemade bread, veggie trays, and desserts will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 11 at post headquarters.

The Ladies Auxiliary will present quilts to veterans, starting with those who served during World War II and were or are active in the VFW. Neva Kreutziger, Donna Kreutziger, Pauline Holub, and Joyce Richmond spent time Saturday at the VFW post assembling some of the quilts.
