A video was circulating among many Marion residents’ Facebook pages last week called “Marion God of this City.” It was a fast-paced slide show with hundreds of images of Marion, residents, Marion County Park and Lake, and Marion Reservoir.
The video ends with a question, “God is working in our city. How is He calling you to help?”
“We have been going through some difficult times as a country and a community,” Brendan Kraus said. “The video is a call to all those who love Marion, and who want to see her get back on the right track.”
Kraus is part of the Men’s Encounter group that produced the video. Men’s and Women’s Encounter are Christian groups that hold meetings and Encounter weekends in Marion.
“Its purpose is to get men away from the stresses of their daily lives and to give them a chance to really focus on themselves, their families, and their lives so they can experience God’s message in a powerful way,” Kraus said. “Men’s and Women’s Encounter believes strongly that reclaiming our cities starts at the family level, and that by putting God back in the center of our lives, that all things are possible.”
