Marion wrestler places 5th at state
Marion wrestler Todd Palic delivered during last week’s trip to Kansas State Wrestling Championships, placing fifth in the 182-pound division.
Palic was joined by teammates Forest Slater and Chance Shults.
Slater went 1-2 in the 113-pound division, while Shults lost both his matches in the 120-pound division.
Hillsboro also sent three wrestlers to the tournament. 132-pounder Garrett Helmer went 1-2, winning his second match, while 145-pounder Jordan Bachman won his first to go 1-2 as well.
Tristan Rathbone fared the best out of Hillsboro’s wrestlers, going 2-2 and reaching the quarterfinals of the 152-pound division.
Canton-Galva students Ryder Norstrom and Andre Patton competed as members of the Hillsboro team, with Norstrom in the 138-pound division and Patton as a 160-pounder.
