The Warriors took second of six teams grappling for glory Friday at a dual tournament in Onaga.
“We wrestled really tough,” coach Chad Adkins said. “We just came up a little short. We lost a close dual to Burlington.”
Adkins noted that 126 pounder Jarrett Johnson has stepped up his intensity lately. Johnson went 5-0, and was one of three Warriors who were undefeated tournament champions.
Remington Putter and Tyler Palic also went 5-0 to win their brackets at 160 and 195 pounds.
Bryce Shults, Noah Albin, and Charlie Nordquist each went 4-1 to take second, while Ezra Darnall, Jared Rahe, and Garrett Hoffner each went 3-2 to place third.
The Warriors rumble again at 9 a.m. Saturday at Chase County.
