Marlene Gutsch

Marlene M. Gutsch, 67, Emporia, died Sept. 19 at her home in rural Emporia.

Born March 2, 1942, in Marion County to Edmond and Mildred (Vinduska) Steiner, she was married June 10, 1961, to James Gutsch in Pilsen.

Marlene was a massage therapist at the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas for 19 years.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a sister, Shirley Steiner.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Jacqueline Lucas of Carson City, Nev.; three sons, Mike of Phoenix, Ariz., David of Ozawkie, and Rodney of Emporia; father, Edmond Steiner of Pilsen; two brothers, Dennis and Terry of Pilsen; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel in Emporia, with the Rev. Diane Warren officiating.

The family suggests donations to Hand in Hand Hospice for training programs, which may be sent in care of the funeral home.
