Martha (Bartel) Peters, 87, died Dec. 4 at Bethesda Home in Goessel. She was born June 24, 1925, to Peter and Anna Schmidt Bartel, in Hillsboro.

She married Ralph Peters on Oct. 21, 1948; he died on May 15, 2002.

She is survived by two sons, Rodney Peters of Hillsboro and Delbert Peters of Hillsboro; a daughter, Norma Duerksen of Orrville, Ohio; one sister, Linda Goertzen of Goessel five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

She was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel.

Visitation was Friday at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church. A graveside service was Saturday at Alexanderwohl Cemetery with a memorial service afterward at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church with Pastors Linda Ewert and Steve Schmidt officiating.

Memorial funds have been established for Bethesda Home and Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church.
