MCC conforter blitz begins March 10

The Kansas Friends of Mennonite Central Committee will sponsor a comforter blitz again March 10 and 11 at the Journey at Yoder campus one mile north of Yoder.

Participants will tie comforters to be sent overseas. Hand quilting also will be offered.

The blitz runs from noon to 9 p.m. March 10 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 11, so those planning to attend through a meal should bring a sack lunch. Donations will be accepted for a chili supper Monday, as well as for sloppy joe sandwiches at lunch on Tuesday.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own scissors, thimbles, needles, and comforter tops and backs, but some supplies will be provided. For comforters, the 60-by-80 inch size is preferred, and the backs should be at least 4 inches larger than the tops.

Baby-sitting is available by reservation. For more information, call Carol Peters at (316) 283-4232 or Lois Leinbach at (620) 327-4119.
