Melvin Kabler

Melvin “Mel” L. Kabler, 71, died Dec. 13, 2008, at his home in Strong City.

Born Jan. 5, 1932, in Wichita, he was the son of Clarence and Treasure (Ellis) Kabler.

He married D. Christine DeWeese May 12, 1972, in Salina. She survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Cecil Merle Kiser Jr.

Other survivors include a son, Bryan Kabler of Valentine, Neb.; two daughters, Jacqueline Kendall of Marion and Diana Ware of Wichita; two brothers, David Kiser of Augusta and Gary Suffron of Cottonwood Falls; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Services were Sunday at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls with grandson, Brandon Findley, officiating. He was cremated and his cremains will be scattered at a later date.

Memorial contributions have been established with Beggs Church of Christ, Beggs, Okla., or Hand in Hand Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home, 201 Cherry, Cottonwood Falls KS 66845.
