The Palace Auto Co.

F.L. Dockstader and Will Shanklin have formed a partnership and will run a motor car agency, livery and repair shop under the name of the “Palace Auto Co.” They will handle Ford, Rambler and Hupmobile cars. A Ford car has already been sold to A.F. Fox, the creamery man, and a new Hupmobile arrived the first of the week and it has attracted considerable attention. The business will be conducted at the old Rink livery barn. Marion now has three garages and the interest in motor cars seems to be great enough to keep them all busy. We wish the new company success.

Good Show

The Marion Dramatic Club gave the comedy, “All a Mistake,” at the Auditorium Friday evening to a large audience. It was one long laugh and those who didn’t go missed one of the jolliest and funniest shows that was ever put on.

The orchestra music was a feature that added much to the enjoyment of the evening’s entertainment and the audience gave the players very liberal applause.

Between the second and third acts, Miss Myrtle Rice sang “A Child of the Desert,” with Mrs. Hannaford as accompanist, and the applause was so spontaneous and sustained that Miss Rice could hardly do otherwise than respond, which she very kindly did and sang “A Drap O’ Dew.”

It certainly was a most enjoyable show.

T.Jensen & Bros. have bought the lot east of their produce house of Dr. C.C. Jones and, we understand, intend to build on it later. Chas. Pierce bought the cottage and is moving it out near the mill on the west side.

Miss Edna Grimes closed a successful term of school at Youngtown on Friday and is home for the summer.

Miss Elizabeth Powers entertained a few friends informally Saturday afternoon to meet Miss Dickey. A three-course meal was served by Misses Winifred and Dora Powers. The invited guests were Mesdames Shearer, Stanton, Sheldon, Hauser, Bryan, Powers, McFadden and Misses Hodge, Bixler, Mary Watson, Caroline Watson, and Dean.
