Hats off to the handsomest and best little city in Kansas. In other words, of course, hats off to Marion! The town completes today its first bunch of street paving—seven or eight blocks of as fine pavement as there is in the state. No. 1 paving blocks, with asphalt filler. And, work of three or four more blocks is underway—and still there’s more to follow. And, no better job has been done in the state. To all its other good things Marion now adds this splendid improvement. And, you can’t beat the old town anywhere in Kansas.

It was a sad but glorious day. Marion, claiming the Southern Kansas H.S. football championship, went against Eureka, claiming the Eastern Kansas championship, on Thanksgiving Day and lost by a score of 9 to 13. And, the Marion boys haven’t a single kick to make. They were fairly beaten by a team that played clean, fast ball.

Several girls met at the home of Miss Edith Hodge last Monday evening and organized a club called, “Aliquid Novi.” Daisy Manuel was elected president and Myrtle Mollohan, secretary and treasurer.
