Some person or persons made an attempt to burn the building containing the City Clerk’s office and the Williams suitatorium early Monday morning. The gasoline tank belonging to the suitatorium had been drained and the contents, probably twenty gallons, had been poured over the floor in both the back and front rooms. Then the electric iron had been turned on and placed on the floor. Had the thing worked as it was planned the whole block might have been burned before it could have been stopped.
